Steps To Recover Deleted Files

Google Drive files may be recovered using an Android phone, iPhone, iPad, or desktop browser. The processes for all three platforms are nearly identical.

Removed files are preserved in the trash folder for a month before being permanently deleted, as previously stated. You may simply restore a file from the trash if you change your mind about removing it within 30 days of deleting it.

It’s also worth mentioning that you can only restore a file if you are the file’s owner. If you don’t know who owns the file, you’ll have to contact them to get it restored. To restore lost data from Google Drive, follow the methods outlined below;

  • On your mobile device, go to Google Drive and choose/select Trash.
  • Go to on a computer browser.
  • To locate the oldest or newest files destroyed, sort your trashed files by trashed date.
  • Right-click the file you wish to recover or click the three dots symbol underneath it.
    Select Restore.
  • Your file should be restored to the same location from where it was deleted.
